On the Move!

Fueling up with her first all-real food lunch of chicken noodles, carrots, and banana-pear. Nummy in the tummy!

Taking a stab at drinking juice --- and doing it! Well, for a second anyway...99% of it went in her lap.

Walking around the table...

Walking around her little table (and being SOOO silly) while I started clearing out cabinets...it's beyond baby-proofing time.

Taking a quick break to watch some PBS.

Banging on the glass door. My mom laughs at me when I say I'm putting Maddie in a helmet and wrapping her in bubble wrap until she's two. Or twelve. Perhaps it isn't such a bad idea!

Trying to put an eye out on the door-stop. Oh, and choke on the rubber end cap - which she pulled off almost immediately.

Cruising around the kitchen...

Trying to topple a chair...

...and get into the cabinets. She also tried to open the broiler and oven, but to no avail (thankfully).

"Mommy's Poo-Poo Song" is very popular here around the house, as is the "Post-Poo" song, and several others. All original, all fun, all day. I think there is a song for just about everything we do.
Anyhow, here is "Mommy's Poo-Poo Song".
Enjoy! :)

Day At the Park

Getting ready to go on our first trip to the park!

First time on a swing:

We went down the slide together:

And ready to go home after some sightseeing

Once home, we climbed on stuff which was waaaay funny

Then, it was nap time! Nite-nite!

***********************************
This is from the other day and I love this shot. She was yelling at that poor unicorn while it was singing to her. It was pretty funny :)

New talents this week:

She points to objects

She will turn toward a familiar object if you ask her where it is

She's getting good at walking using the furniture

She can stand on her own for a couple seconds

She is enthralled with the shiny silver doorknobs all over the house (I had to put her little white socks over the knobs in her room to conceal them, as she wants to play with them instead of nap). While we were exploring the science of door, doorknobs, & latches the other day, she said, "Duh-bob". Maddie-speak for "doorknob"??? ...perhaps. Perhaps just wishful thinking on mommy's part.

Growing Up WAY Too Fast...

So, earlier today, Maddie is taking her nap. I hear her start to stir and I go up to get her, right? THIS IS WHAT I SEE WHEN I WALK IN:

She was extremely proud of herself. I was proud, as well, but also a little sad.
She's growing way too fast for me.
She has also been practicing waving 'hello', getting a little (and I stress a little) better at holding her sippy cup, and walking while holding onto the TV armoire (there are little greasy Maddie-prints all across the bottom of the TV). I got her a baby doll today and she got a real kick out of it...she went right for the eyes (better the baby doll than the dog, right?!). We're still working on the whole 'Be nice to the puppy' thing. :)

My Beautiful Family

(There's SIX TEETH in that little mouth and two more are trying to erupt on top! ...and, yes, she bites!)

Doing Great Post-Op!!

Well, surgery went great and has hopefully solved the problem. Dr. J said the bad kidney had shrunk to the size of a grape, but the left kidney looks great. We'll see him next week for a check-up, then have another ultrasound in six weeks or so. She is recovering well and is as active as ever...even more so than before! She was climbing and crawling as soon as we got home from the hospital and has been laughing and on the move, sleeping great, and just a bundle of fun while she's awake.

Pre-Op trip to Austin, hanging out at the Driskill Hotel ...

Day before her surgery, fooling around and learning to climb on the furniture...

First day home from the hospital, playing before slipping into some cozy P.J.'s...

Enjoying a bit of time spent with Great-Grandma Eva who drove in from Milford to hang out for a couple days...

Family Dinner

Yesterday, sort of eating, sort of wearing her cookie. Cookies for dinner?!? ~ Who is the best mommy ever???

A happy (and much cleaner) baby this morning, waiting for daddy to get home so we can leave for a mini get-away in Austin...
