The Avid Reader

Friday, reading her own book before nap time. It's her favorite page of the book, where the puppy has a "Shubble" (shovel), "Buck" (bucket), "Leebes" (leaves), "Wand and Tah" (wand & star), "Cate" (cape), and "Coat" (coat)!! I love her little words.

Today, reading the new books Grampaw got for her. It's so funny how much of the story she actually picks up just from the pictures.

Last week, Maddie got to try Oreos for the first time (on account of her being in pain and all). I think she may have liked them!

This is from a few months ago and I thought it was funny. Now she takes the battery cover off and uses it as a cell phone. :)

Ears

At Maddie's well check with her doctor, we discovered that she was sporting her first infection in her left ear. No problem ~ just take these antibiotics for the next ten days and we'll recheck her in three weeks. That was two weeks ago. Last night she felt warm (even though she had nothing but diapers and a t-shirt on) and was acting strange; this morning, same story, so I asked her pediatrician if we can come in to check her ear.
...So it seems that the first round of meds didn't do a thing (besides upset her little tummy, anyway). Now her left ear is officially badly infected & may rupture and her right ear is starting to look infected, as well. We left the office with prescriptions for stronger antibiotics and analgesic drops, plus a big Elmo sticker for only having a mini-tantrum when her ears were prodded.
Please pray that the new antibiotics work, that she gets over the pain quickly, and that she won't get diarrhea or yeast problems from the medicine.

MotorMouth

Last week:

Noooo WAY, Mister P! He sooo was getting ready to squirt me :)

Monday, waiting for me to get her up from her nap.

Today, drinking juice and reading her new animal book.

Posing for the camera instead of crying because she wants it!

Well, I have two videos I'd like to post, but the files are both too big and won't upload, so I'll just have to tell you about them instead! Maddie knows her ABC's and her numbers 1-6 & 8 (7 she thinks is an "L" and she turns 9 upside down into a 6). She gets a few letters confused with another, such as P & R or V & Y, but it's still nuts to see her go through her alphabet! She's also learned many more animal names (like "Macaw", "Dolphin" and "Beetle") and can make most of their sounds. She's getting really good at communicating, too. She says, "Fank ooo" for thank you. She will tell me if she too hot or cold (she says, "Cold! Buuuh!" which translates to "Cold! Burrrrr!") She can name all the parts of her body, has names for all her books (so she can tell me which bedtime story she wants), and can say, "I Love You". Of course, it sounds like "Eye-uffooo", but I know what she means. The other day while I was pulling her pants on, she leaned over to give me a kiss and then says, "Uggg" and hugged me. It was the cutest thing ever! This morning in bed, she was naming the Sesame Street characters on her pajamas: Ehmo, Kuk-eee, Ah-ka, and Bik Burp, also known as Elmo, Cookie, Oscar, & Big Bird.
Anyhow, I could sit and write all night about her, but I'm pretty tired and she's bound to be up in the night.

My Most Beautiful

This afternoon, waking up from her nap and looking yummy!

A couple weeks ago, I took her to the water play area in our subdivision and we had a BLAST!
