7 Months & 4 Days

Fresh out of the bath

She's so chunky! Just wanna eat her up

Awaiting a diaper

Teeth, growing pains, a new found penchant - almost her métier - for whining...there's been a LOT of fussing going on around here (and lately I can't blame it all on Maddie). Thankfully, my hair is already gray.

Learning To Crawl

"Just call me 'Trouble'..."

Maddie has almost got the crawling thing down and can (kind of) go backwards. I'm waiting for her to take off any minute. THIS SPELLS TROUBLE ~ she already gets into everything she can get her hands on! She has a stationary walker (it only allows her to walk around in circles) and I caught her scooting the entire unit across the kitchen floor, trying to open the cabinets! Anyhow, here's a couple quick videos of her trying go get moving...

Teeth Are Funny, Too

Teeth Are Funny, Too...(part deux)

I wish it wasn't so dark...she was making this excited face that was cracking me up, but you can't really tell. Fooooey!

Happy, Happy!

Happy start to a happy day

"You talkin' to me?? Am I a clown to you??"

The "Non-Nap" Nap.

Since we didn't nap, we played instead! Here, we've got a thumb in Mama's nose. Hilarious! I love that game...

"No!" and "Ouch!" are still pretty funny...

Mama, the comedienne...
"Ok, so three guys walk into a bar...tell me if ya heard this one..."

Baby Spock.
(Her hair just flipped up a bit behind her ear. She's not really a Vulcan.)

Teething cookie, which turns into a cement-like substance after it dries on baby skin. DEEE-licious!

The Best Years of My Life

Happy Anniversary, baby. I love you...

Weekend In Pictures

*** Caught on tape! Busted watching Barney...uggggggh

Getting ready to go to Galveston and dumping toys everywhere...

Relaxing while we load up the truck...

Arrival!
First trip to the beach, just in time for a first sunset...

Saturday, getting ready to have lunch...and looking extra cute!

Look at this little beach bunny! She didn't even attempt to eat any sand, much to our amazement. She did try to bury her leg in it...

Getting ready to head home. Yaaay family vacation!!

Latest n' Greatest

Anyone up for a game of "I WANT IT!"? This has been Maddie's latest development. Whining, kicking, throwing her head against the pillows in a tantrum-esque posture...my personal favorite, however, is the fabulous faux cry ~ complete with the pouty bottom lip. It is absolutely hilarious! Very dramatic. "AAAH-GEEEE!" is an expression of displeasure, and high-pitched squeals demonstrate utter joy. No real words yet, but I can understand exactly what she's saying.
She has also started pushing up on all fours as if to crawl and sleeping in her crib through the night. She'll usually wake around 4am for me to come get her and we'll go back to sleep in the recliner until 7. That's when I wake up to my hair being pulled, my eyes being poked until I open them, and a big, chubby, smiling face waiting for me to get her breakfast ready.
That's all for now.
XOXO

Tuesday Afternoon

(She'd stop laughing when she saw the camera, so I had to hide it...hence, no picture!)

Thank You, Ora-Gel

Today's been a good day, even though we're cutting teeth like crazy. The tooth next to her top left front erupted, and I can see both front teeth just under the surface ~ and more teeth wanting to come out on the bottom. The two that she has are big and are perfect for biting fingers and noses...
***
Maddie's new favorite place to nap: the couch. She'll sleep for hours, requiring only that I pop her binky back in her mouth every so often. I papoose her with the sheet and tuck it into the cushions so I can (try to) get stuff done around the house. Fabulous!!

Sleeping Beauty, up close

Wakin' up!

Sitting pretty for the camera

Being silly for the camera

Not quite getting the hang of her sippy cup yet, but it sure is fun!

It's more fun, however, to experiment with dumping her milk into her lap than to drink it! She also painted her head with sweet potatoes...lovely :)
