Six Months

Less than two hours old and already looking at her mommy...

Today, taking a break from chewing on her bunny...

Cozy on daddy at the hospital...

Today, making a pretty good attempt to crawl...

Sleeping on mommy the day before we got to take our new baby girl home...

Precious, precious baby. Happy half-birthday.

UNTITLED (A Wednesday Morning With Madelyn)

Silly face

Smiling at Dora-Puppy

First real time in her jumper...she not only spit up after twirling for a bit, but also surprised Mama with a poopy diaper blowout. Yuck...

Artsy-Fartsy

Needing a break from tackling regular chores and unpacking a decidedly ungodly amount of stuff, I instead started some creative projects! I actually finished two of them.

Finished: homemade curtains

Finished: container garden

Not quite done yet: paper mache vase

Can't Help Myself...

OK, please keep in mind that I'm still in the process of fixing our new house up and I could only show ya a little bit of the downstairs ~ for now. Everywhere else is still, more or less, a disaster!

Maddie, trying to figure out why mommy's climbing up on the chair

The kitchen, obviously. We're having an issue with the dishwasher hose, so it's all pulled out in the middle of the floor...

Formal dining area

Flowers waiting to be planted...hopefully I can get 'em in the ground before they die!

Dining, entry, and music room

I've got two chairs that I need to reupholster that will go in here.

Our living room

...and that's all there is until I get everything else put together!

TGIF

This walker toy is a life-saver! She'll play for 30 minutes at a time, allowing me to do chores (you can see laundry yet to be folded on the sofa!). She was being so silly that I had to grab the camera and share what I caught:

This is her latest thing ~ sucking/biting her lower lip. She does it all the time. What a cutie-pie!

She LOVES the faces on her Einstein videos; she 'talks' to them every time they come on...

Being a goofball and eating my camera...

Sugar Land Or Bust!

Look at those little bottom teeth!!

Discovering (and contemplating) her new Leap Frog counting book...

Playing while I unpack and clean...

Watching a Baby Einstein video while I hang curtains...she loves it ~ Mama, however, thinks it's pretty cheesy.

First time in her highchair!

She almost got her bottle to her mouth, but she squished it right into her eye instead :)

Well, we just moved back to Sugar Land! I've been unpacking and decorating and entertaining Maddie, so I haven't been able to post in a while. Our new home is gigantic, but I vow to keep it clean! It was built in 2006, 5 bedrooms, 3 baths ~ 3004 sq ft in all. The laundry room is IN THE HOUSE and not the garage which makes doing the wash as pleasurable as doing wash can be :) I will post some photos as soon as it looks presentable; sometime around Christmas, so far as I can tell.

Maddie and our little family are doing great. She's hit twenty pounds, got two big teeth and I think she's getting ready to cut another. She has taken to biting fingers, noses, chins...makes me appreciate the fact that we're bottle feeding! She's also tried squash, sweet potatoes, peas, bananas, carrots, applesauce, and whipped cream (thanks, MoMo!). She sits up really well now, so we've been using her highchair. It's incredible to watch her as she learns new things and grows. She's so amazing! It's crazy to think that she'll be six-months next week already...
