Discovering TV

This is not the worlds tiniest butt, but a fat roll on Maddie's thigh! She's such a chunker and has these little 'butts' all over.

Swinging...and putting her shirt in her mouth

Checking out her feets...

Watching Discovery Health Channel...

Still watching TV...she wouldn't even look at me!

Roses from our yard...
Madelyn has finally graduated to sleeping in her crib...after moving it into our room, of course. Last night was her first night in it and I slept with a flashlight in my hand (hey, I only checked her twice!).

AAAAAh-Chooo!

Well, Madelyn has her very first cold. I guess I caught something and now we're both miserable. She's been running temperatures between 99.0 and 101.2 and coughing, sneezing, crying, sleeping...and smiling ~ because she's our little sweetheart. I've already called our pediatrician three times to make sure I don't need to rush to the hospital and poor Dr. H has been so patient with my questions. All we can really do is use some Vick's Vaporub, use a Vick's vaporizer, saline and suction her nose, let her sleep sitting up in her car seat, and use a little Tylenol if she seems to be particularly uncomfortable.
Anyhow, please wish her well; I can handle my own cold, but it's hard to watch her experience hers.
XOXO

Three Months Old

We were waiting for her new toy to arrive! We got this walker/activity center that is SO awesome...even if her little feet can't touch the ground yet, she can still sit in it and play. It has all kinds of things to mess with and the coolest little piano which she loved. Baby prodigy in the works?? In the mean time, mommy took photos while Maddie gnawed on her rattle...

**********
I'm not sure why this turned out so dang dark ~ all the lights were on and the curtains were open. Anyhow, if you can see well enough, it kinda looks like she's bobbing her head to the music. I was dyin' laughing when she was hitting the button that played the rap song...our little gansta!

Sitting In Her 'Bumbo' Chair

Not sure what to think...

Getting the hang of it...

Look at me, mommy!!!

A Great Easter Weekend

Playing with daddy on Friday night...

Sound asleep at my mom & dad's house on Easter after going to Grampa Larry's church...
Unfortunately, I didn't get any photos of Maddie awake and in her whole Easter outfit...I was trying to get her and myself ready for the 9:15am church service. I also didn't get any pictures of her hanging out with Gramma and Grampa Rivera, Unkey (Uncle) Jay, Unkey George, or Auntie Erika...she had a fun time and was ALL smiles, trying to 'talk' to everybody.

Hippy Chick

Poor baby is already too big for her 3-month size clothes...the last time I put this on her it was way too big. At least she got to wear it once!

Look at those chubby cheeks! And that chin...I just want to eat her up!

Happenings with Maddie this past week:
~Discovered that she has hands that fit perfectly in her mouth
~Has become totally obsessed with said hands being in her mouth
~Decided that everything she can grasp should be put in her mouth
~Holds her head up most of the time
~Pushes up onto her elbows when on her tummy
~Realized that she can use her legs to push & kick stuff
~She 'stands up' on your lap when you hold her
~Noticed that she's got these neat little things called "Feet"
~Smiles when I ask her if she wants food...then cries when I don't have it for her ASAP

Watching her learn and grow is the most awesome thing in the world.

P.S.

Maddie is 15lbs

11 Weeks 4 Days

Ignoring all the other activities on this toy...she watched the purple birdie "fly" for almost an hour!

Happy Feet! Watching the bird, chillin', listening to some tunes ~ ahhhh, it's hard being little...

My Boppy, My Friend

Thank you, thank you Great-Grandma Prissy for getting us this Boppy chair! Maddie hasn't been too fond of sitting anywhere except our laps for any extended amount of time, but the last couple days she's been hanging out in her Boppy! I actually got to do a zillion loads of laundry yesterday! I can't believe I am that excited about that...

She slept for nearly 12 hours straight, even through her feeding, changing, and while I took her temperature (I was sure that she was getting sick). Instead of taking advantage and taking a nap myself, I kept checking her to make sure that she was still breathing, kept feeling her forehead to make sure she didn't feel feverish. She woke up around 5am for an hour to eat, then fell back asleep for another 3. Growth spurt maybe?

11 Weeks Old

Sitting pretty!
How cute is she!!!

She looks thrilled, no?

Looking much more cozy before lunchtime
Playing with her whistling elephant
Supposed to be taking a nap...you can see how that went!
The most ANNOYING TOY in the world!!! It sings this horrible color song ~ and, of course, she can't get enough of it. Maybe we'll take it to (and leave it at) MoMo's house!
The entire house is a mess, inside and out, every room...but I found some pretty things to look at in the yard.

Azaleas (and weeds) out front

Tulip tree...which I should have planted in full sun. The rest of the 'tree' is looking pretty sad

Pretty flowers in the backyard

Cutie Pie! Pictures From Today

Being silly...

Cozy after a nice bath

Crying because her binky fell out of her mouth

All better...and getting sleepy

VCUG Looked Normal!

Our second attempt to check Maddie's bladder for reflux went great and she didn't cry until the end of the test. She flinched a little when the nurse catheterized her, but got revenge by first farting on the other nurse's finger then pooping on the x-ray table! That's our girl!! Anyway, there's no reflux which is good news. I guess our next test is to check kidney function in six weeks or so, then another ultrasound. After seeing some of the little ones at Texas Children's Hospital, I am extremely thankful that this is the problem we're dealing with. There was a little girl with Down's syndrome walking past us in the waiting room, crying. Then she saw Maddie and stopped crying long enough to say, "Hello, baby!". It was so precious.

Anyhow, this dang site won't let me upload photos again, but I'll try back later.
xoxo

Hangin' out, letting me throw some make-up on...

Lookin' Good, ready to go shopping...

Lookin' Good again...

Wheeeeew! Shopping is thirsty work!
